Rebecca Caudill Young Readers' Book Award
Grades 4-8


 

“The Rebecca Caudill Young Readers' Book Award is an annual award given to the author of the book voted most outstanding by students in grades four through eight in participating Illinois schools. The award is named in honor of Rebecca Caudill who lived and wrote in Urbana, Illinois, for nearly 50 years. The award is given in recognition for her literary talent and the universal appeal of her books which have touched the hearts of many children and young adults.” -www.rebeccacaudill.org

Caudill Rules and Procedures

  • Only 4th - 8th graders at GLS are eligible to participate in the Caudill program.

  • You must read 3 books off the 2023 nominee list in order to be eligible to vote in February of 2023

  • Add your name to the Caudill bookself everytime you finish a book!

  • You could have read the book from anywhere (public library, book store, book fair, teacher read it out loud, etc.) and anytime (last year, two years ago, etc.)!

  • Each reader may vote for his or her favorite book from among the nominees. Details on how the votes will be taken will be available soon!

  • Vote totals are then submitted (by the school) online by March 15th.
