My name is Jennifer Lubar. I have two daughters, ages 15 and 17, and live in Spring Grove. I worked at Nippersink Middle School as a Language Arts aide for 6 th - 8 th grade for 3 years. Prior to that I worked as a substitute teacher and chaired the Ram’s Peak Publishing Company for several years. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in English at Lake Forest College, and I received my teaching certification for grades 6 through 12 at Elmhurst University. While attending Elmhurst University I studied abroad in England and taught at a secondary school called The Barking Abbey for ages 11 to 16. In my free time I love spending time with my girls, playing with my two goldendoodles, and riding horses. I am extremely excited to be a Grass Lake Brave and partner with your children in their Language Arts learning adventure!

As part of our adventure, we will be reading a variety of fiction and non-fiction pieces throughout the year. For 6th grade we will be focusing on Realistic Fiction, Historical Fiction, Science Fiction, and Fantasy. For 7th grade we will be focusing on Realistic Fiction, Poetry in Verse, Historical Fiction, and several short stories that are from Gothic Horror and Dystopian genres.

The majority of our assignments will be posted in Google Classroom. If you click on the next tab (see the menu to your left) more information about Google Classroom is provided.

Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have any questions or concerns!
