LIBRARY NEWS

Thanks to all families who purchased books at the ten cent book sale.  We sold 635 books and donated the rest to the Friends of the Library book sale at Antioch Public Library, which should take place this month.  If you missed our sale, you might want to check that one out.

 

We are trying out an exciting new program called the Harris Educational Loan.  Through this loan, “experience boxes” on different subjects are available to schools.  The boxes contain hands-on materials and books.  For the next three weeks, 4^th grade will be using the Mineral Match box and 5^th grade will be using the Native American Games box.  Those particular boxes were requested by the teachers to go with their curriculum in science and social studies.  The experience boxes come from the Field Museum in Chicago, and are loaned to schools at no charge.  If you have children in 4^th or 5^th grade, ask them about the boxes.
